About Chai Kings: it began in Chennai in 2016 with a simple thought: why shouldn't great chai be as easy to find as coffee? That thought became a small tea café. And that café became Chai Kings.
Today, Chai Kings is a growing South Indian tea café chain serving freshly brewed chai, coffee, snacks, quick bites and bubble tea across Chennai, Hyderabad and Coimbatore.
From a morning cup before work to an evening chai with friends, an office flask for the team or chai and snacks for a celebration, we've built Chai Kings around one simple idea: good chai should be close by, consistent, affordable and worth coming back for.

Chai Kings is a tea café chain founded in Chennai, offering a wide range of freshly prepared beverages and food.
Our menu brings together traditional Indian chai and contemporary favourites — from Ginger Chai, Elaichi Chai, Dum Chai and Masala Chai to Black Chai, Herbal Chai, Ice Chai, coffee and bubble tea.
We've also launched Coffee Theory at Chai Kings — a range of gourmet coffee, currently available at select outlets.

Built by Two Complementary Minds
Balaji Sadagopan and Jahabar Sadique founded Chai Kings with a shared ambition to build a tea brand that combines the familiarity of Indian chai with the consistency and experience of a modern café. Their complementary strengths — operations, creativity, brand building and customer experience — helped shape Chai Kings from its first outlet into a growing tea café chain.
The journey continues with the same belief that started it all: Make great chai. Make it accessible. Build it with integrity.

We Are a Company Owned, Company Operated (COCO) Business
Chai Kings does not offer franchises, dealerships or franchise rights. We operate our stores through the COCO model — Company Owned, Company Operated.
Why? Because we believe consistency comes from being directly involved. Our teams remain responsible for the way our stores operate — from ingredients and preparation to hygiene, service, customer experience and day-to-day operations.
This model allows us to listen directly to our customers, test new ideas, improve quickly and maintain the Chai Kings experience across our outlets.
We know franchising can enable faster expansion. But we have deliberately chosen a different path. We would rather grow with control than grow at the cost of consistency.

About Chai Kings today (as on 1 September 2026): what started as one cozy outlet in Chennai has grown into 80+ tea stops across Chennai, Hyderabad and Coimbatore, each one built on the same promise — clean, consistent, quality chai, served with zero pretension.
We source our tea leaves responsibly and follow food safety guidelines set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), so every cup meets the same standard whether you're grabbing a quick one solo or ordering a full flask for your team.
